Today's Blog is a bit different, given that I am not much of a movie-buff ! But some iconic characters do sit with me, and this weekend we found ourselves treating us to a movie night with the eclectic #JabWeMet

Earlier too we have watched and rewatched the movie several times, for all the theatrics and entertainment value that an bubbly Kareena Kapoor throws at us....but this time around... what came to mind was that Jab We Met is more than just a entertainer - a relook at it from a mindfulness lens presents many life lessons...

1. Embrace Life’s Unpredictability

Geet aka Kareena Kapoor taught me that life is full of unexpected turns, and we should embrace it with open arms. Sometimes, taking risks or stepping out of our #comfortzone can lead to the most amazing experiences.

What I learnt: Life’s unpredictability is often what makes it beautiful.

2. Be True to Yourself

Geet's carefree spirit and individuality reminded me of the importance of staying true to ourselves, even when society or situations push us to conform. It taught me to aim to be #authentic and genuine, from within.

What I learnt: Don’t let anyone dull your uniqueness; embrace your #authenticself.

3. Don’t Let Fear Hold You Back

Aditya aka Shahid Kapoor starts as a man crippled by #selfdoubt and fear of #failure. Geet helps him realize that he’s not bound by his past, and he can #takecontrol of his future.

What I learnt: #Letgo of fear, and don’t let past failures define your future.

4. The Power of Positivity

Geet's #optimism is contagious, and it helps Aditya overcome his emotional struggles. She constantly looks for the good in life, no matter how tough things get. Indeed, #hope can ride us through the toughest of times !

What I learnt: Positivity can change your mindset and those around you, making life more fulfilling.

5. Healing is imperative for True Connection

The relationship between Geet and Aditya is one of healing. Geet helps Aditya rediscover his #passion for life, while Aditya helps Geet see the value of her own dreams and decisions.

What I learnt:Sometimes, we need others to help us heal and grow, but it’s important to give and take in relationships.

6. Love is a Journey, Not a Destination

Love, as depicted in the film, isn’t about finding perfection but about embracing #imperfections. It’s about #evolving together, learning from mistakes, and growing stronger.

What I learnt: True love is built over time, with patience, understanding, and mutual respect.

7. Let Go of the Past to Move Forward

Aditya’s #transformation through the movie shows that #healing involves letting go of painful memories and moving on.

What I learnt: Holding onto the past keeps you from experiencing the beauty of the present and future.

8. It’s Okay to Take a Break

Geet’s decision to #takeabreak from her life’s pressures and travel to Shimla was a bold one. It’s okay to step away from stressful situations to gain #clarity and perspective.

What I learnt: Taking time off can help us re-evaluate and come back stronger.

9. Be Bold and Take Risks

Geet’s decision to #followtheheart, even when it’s not the “right” choice according to others, shows that sometimes we need to take a #leapoffaith. Yes there may be consequences that seem negative at first, but the great part is that it is all on us - we are responsible when we venture out on our own, beyond our comfort zone.

What I learnt: Don't be afraid to take risks, especially if they align with your heart’s desires.

10. Trust in Timing, and in the Universe

The timing of Geet and Aditya’s meeting is no coincidence, somewhere the cosmos colluded to make it happen. Sometimes, we meet people or find opportunities at just the right moment, at the right place, with the #rightintent.

What I learnt: #Trust the timing of your life; everything happens when it's meant to. And more so, trust yourself and the Universe, in hindsight things do work out!
