“Find your Passion” — Live your Mojo - So many of us spend years chasing joy, meaning and purpose in what we do.

We may work for money and livelihood until a certain point, but inherently, humans are wired to make a difference and go beyond the immediate 'surviving' to more meaningful pursuits of 'thriving'.

Passion is often portrayed as a thunderbolt of inspiration or a glamorous way of being. But in truth, discovering what you’re truly passionate about is a journey — one filled with curiosity, trial, reflection, and courage.

If you’ve ever felt unsure about what sets your soul on fire, you’re not alone. Here’s a more grounded, step-by-step way to uncover what you’re truly passionate about.

1. Follow Your Talents, and your Curiosity

Passion doesn’t always announce itself suddenly - it can be hidden in the years of expertise you have developed. Or it may not - it can start as a quiet curiosity — a spark of interest that keeps showing up. Often, great ventures are built at the cusp of expert skills and undying passion, and naive playfulness !

Questions to ask -

"What am I truly good at?"

"What activities make me lose track of time?"

"What would I choose to do if I didn’t have to worry about money or judgment?"

Knowing yourself is the first step to knowing what you are passionate about.

Also, it is not always about repurposing the existing 'you' - sometimes, your passion isn’t something you’re already good at, but something you want to get better at. Give yourself permission to explore before expecting mastery.

2. Look Back to Look Forward

Your past holds clues. Think about your childhood and teen years — what did you love doing before the world told you what was “practical”?

Take a pause and reflect back on your true power ...

"What did you love doing for fun as a kid?"

"When did you feel most alive or proud?"

"Were there activities you did just for the JOY of it, not for grades, praise, or rewards?"

Sometimes our passions get buried under adult responsibilities, but they’re still there, waiting to be reawakened.

3. Notice What Energizes You (and What Drains You)

Passion often shows up as energy. Not excitement in every single moment, but a sense of engagement and aliveness.

Pay attention to:

"What kinds of tasks give you energy, even after a long day?"

"Which conversations or projects make you feel mentally “lit up”?"

"Where do you naturally go the extra mile — not because you have to, but because you want to?"

These questions will help you intentionally build a creatively-fulfilling life that is aligned with who you are at the core.

The opposite is also useful: noticing what consistently drains you is a clue about what’s not your path.

4. Experiment Boldly (and Messily)

You won’t find your passion just by thinking about it — you need to try things. Passion is discovered through action, not introspection alone.

Try:

Taking a class that excites you

Volunteering in different fields

Starting a side project just for fun

Shadowing someone whose work intrigues you

Think of it as passion prototyping. Every experiment, whether a success or failure, brings more clarity.

5. Don’t Wait for “The One”

Many people think passion is singular — one true calling. The truth? You might have multiple passions across your lifetime. Or your passions may change as you grow and evolve. That’s okay.

Instead of waiting for a perfect “aha!” moment, focus on building a life around what matters most to you.

Sit with the question - "What is meaningful and purposeful for you?"

Contribution

Creativity

Learning

Impact

Connection

Anything else ?

Sometimes your passion is not the thing you do, but the feeling it gives you.

6. Quiet the Noise, Tune Into Yourself

With social media and constant comparison, it’s easy to confuse someone else’s passion with your own. What looks glamorous online might not feel fulfilling in your life.

Take time to disconnect and reflect. Journal. Meditate. Go for a walk without distractions.

The real question is -

"If no one ever saw this, would I still love doing it?"

Does this feel aligned with Who I Am — or who I think I should Be?

7. Allow Your Passion to Evolve

Passion isn’t a destination. It’s a living, breathing part of you — and it can change. What excites you today might evolve tomorrow.

Give yourself permission to outgrow past passions and make room for new ones. You’re not being flaky — you’re growing.

In a Nutshell...

Passion grows with you.

Discovering your passion isn’t a one-time revelation — it’s a journey of staying curious, listening to yourself, and taking imperfect steps forward. It may not always feel clear, but if you keep showing up with honesty and courage, passion has a way of revealing itself.

And remember: you don’t need to find it all at once. Sometimes, you discover your passion in the process of living your life. It may take ups and downs, crests and troughs, but if you feel.
