Once a year, we pause to honour the ones who shaped us — not just with knowledge, but with wisdom. Not just with answers, but with presence. Guru Purnima is more than a tradition — it’s a quiet moment of gratitude for all those who helped us see ourselves more clearly.

Long back, I composed and published a heartfelt gratitude poem for my Gurus - the Gurus who are seen - our teachers, mentors, guides, and so on.

But the truth is — Gurus are everywhere. And not all of them stand on a stage or sit on a pedestal.

1. The Gurus Who Taught Through Love

These are the ones who showed up, again and again, for many of us these look like our teachers, parents, family and friends. Their lessons didn’t always come as lectures, but in their care, love, consistency. They taught us how to love, persevere, and believe — even when we didn’t know we needed it.

2. The Gurus Who Challenged Us

Not every guru is kind. Some come as challenges, critics, heartbreaks, failures. They test our strength, question our worth, force us to grow. And in hindsight, we see — they were shaping us all along. Teaching Resilience. Building Self-trust. Upholding SelfBelief. LettingGo of what does not serve us good.

3. The Gurus in Small Moments

Sometimes a child says something simple, and it lands like truth. A stranger’s gesture. A line from a book. A quiet walk. Life constantly sends us guides — subtle, unassuming, powerful. Life lessons are learnt not just in the big, visible moments, but in smaller moments of everyday living. We just have to be present and #mindful enough to notice.

4. The Guru Within

Over time, with every lesson and #reflection, a quieter voice begins to grow — our inner guide, the light within each one of us. The #innervoice one that nudges us toward #authenticity, #alignment, and #peace. Guru Purnima is also a time to honour that voice — the part of us that’s been learning, listening, and evolving. Listening within deeply and reflecting is one of the essentials to finding and living your Mojo - the unique spark that makes you YOU !

Why Choose Guru Poornima ?

Full Moons represent the end of the lunar cycle and usher in energy that can be felt days leading up and days afterwards.

Full Moons often feel like moments of release, relinquishment and surrender, the shedding of old energies, relationships and low-vibrational cycles that may leave you feeling stuck or stagnant. It is during Full Moons that you are encouraged to finally confront, address and heal the wounds that have gone unattended for so long*.

In a Nutshell...

So on Guru Purnima, with its bright beckoning fullness, the Moon exudes an energy dedicated to the seen and unseen teachers. To the ones who broke us open and helped us rebuild. To the ones who walked with us, silently. To the guru within, always waiting to be heard, waiting to elevate us to our best self!

Take a moment to Pause. Reflect. Bow.
